Ukrainian officials reported that approximately four dozen ballistic missiles were deployed by Russian forces in this single attack. We need devastating pressure on Moscow to end this terror."
Casualties and Widespread Damage Reported
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that at least one individual was killed and 16 others sustained injuries in the attack. He reiterated the critical need for advanced anti-ballistic interceptor systems to defend against such assaults. "Protection against ballistic missiles is our constant and top priority right now. Interceptors are needed every day, and I am grateful to everyone who takes our agreements seriously and ensures the delivery of anti-ballistic capabilities," President Zelenskyy stated on X.
The Ukrainian air force indicated that 18 out of 41 missiles launched by Russia were successfully intercepted. Additionally, 23 missiles and 10 drones reportedly struck 20 different locations, with Kyiv being the primary target. Approximately 108 out of 125 Russian drones were also downed. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko provided updates via Telegram, detailing the outbreak of fires in various districts. These included a dormitory, a residential building, and a supermarket. Emergency services were swiftly deployed, with rescue workers successfully extracting four individuals from a burning private residence in the Sviatoshynskyi district and others from a three-story building engulfed in flames in the Shevchenkivskyi district.
